10 tips
Tip 1
Regular turning of your mattress extends its lifespan and keep your mattress in top condition.
Tip 2
A well ventilated and clean bedroom is ideal. Having your room properly darkened is also important, of course.
Tip 3
Do you realise that you spend around a third of your life in bed? To prevent neck and shoulder complaints, it is therefore important that your mattress and pillow provide good support for these parts of your body.
Tip 4
Routine contributes to good sleeping behaviour. So try to go to bed at the same time each night, thereby preventing unrest.
Tip 5
Before going to bed, try to relax by reading a book, taking a bath or listening to music.
Tip 6
Active people sleep better. That's why you are advised to get more physical exercise. Consider cycling, swimming, walking or jogging. Just don't do this immediately before going to bed, but rather at least two hours before.
Tip 7
Caffeine, nicotine and alcohol have an unfavourable effect on your sleeping behaviour. Falling asleep is more difficult and the sleep itself is more restless.
Tip 8
Emit a relaxing aroma into the room. Lavender, for example, has a proven calming effect.
Tip 9
Leaving your computer and TV out of the bedroom creates a more calming environment.
Tip 10
Sleeping well is more important than sleeping for long.
The amount of sleep we need differs from person to person.
